One of the reasons why I want to learn how to knit a beanie is my love for Baguio. Whenever I am there, I know and can feel that, in a way, I'm a better person - happier, more relaxed and hopeful. I don't know if it has something to do with the cold weather, fresh fruits and vegetables, art galleries, or their music there. Maybe the best word to use would be "malaya" (free).

The town brings out even more the visual person in me - I rediscover my love for photography and the written word. I can focus and finish a novel or chapbook in just one sitting. A lot of their bookshops offer a wide range of local, regional, and international books.
Mountain Cloud, is one of these happy and comfort bookshops. They don't only sell books but also organize poetry reading sessions and artists and writers' talks. I see to it that I drop by the place before riding the bus home.

I'm glad that even though I wasn't able to visit Baguio the past few months, some of my Rubbercut Forest Postcards and Hey Kessy washi tapes are now available at Mt. Cloud Bookshop (Casa Vallejo, Upper Session Road). Now, I have more excuses reasons to go to Baguio once a month :)

Celebrate Christmas with Hey Kessy Washi Tapes

Thank you for sharing. I have not been to Baguio in a loooooooong time. I'd love to spend time at this book shop. Ang ganda.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is great Mansy! I love Mt. Cloud. My fondest memories of this place involve reading Lynda Barry's epic book, What It Is (rented at the store) and Optic Nerve using the setting sun as light while Baguio was in the midst of a blackout. :) See you soon!
