Some Things, Late October

1. So happy these washi tapes are finally here! Paul and I worked really hard to bring you the first Filipino-designed washi tapes ever! You can buy them only at Hey Kessy :)

2. Ros of Commune gave us a spot where we could have a Pop Up Shop at their coffee place. I really loved the place - good food, lovely interiors, and accommodating staff.

3. TV5's Good Morning Club invited me and Hey Kessy to be on their episode on paper products. I couldn't sleep the night before! The interview was super fun though and the hosts were warm and friendly :)

4. The Vogels are definitely my life peg. You don't have to be a millionaire to be an art collector. They valued Art so much so they allotted a percentage of their savings for artworks they love.

5. My hair has grown. I'm thinking of cutting it to shoulder length and have bangs again. Hhmmm.

Outside

Afternoon tea

Afternoon tea

For some reason, I can't concentrate and therefore, can't work in my room. It bothers me that I have to go outside, stay in a café just so I could finish a project. I don't really mind being outside though, it's just the spending that I'm trying to avoid.

Good thing there are places serving good and affordable drinks in Katipunan like Saint's Alp. You should try their Jasmine tea, Black Sesame milk tea, and of course, matcha toast. :)

Hand-carved Stamp: Commune

I made a stamp for a beautiful coffee shop in Makati, which I think you should go and visit :) It took me around 15 minutes to carve and a few seconds to realize how I truly missed making stamps.

Face 3, Papercutting

I love working with thin lines and observing how they are (or ought to be) connected. This piece is part of the             DIY (Do It Yourface) series I've been working on. The projects are made using different materials - paper, linoleum, and even leaves.

A Little Tea Set and Some Food

Mornings

I attended Ryan's sister's 18th birthday party in Eastwood the other night and got this cute tea set. The saucer has a nice pattern.

On another news, here are some of the food I've tasted lately which were so good I finished them even before I could snap some photos hehe :)

1. Matcha Financier (TWG Tea Salon and Boutique, Rockwell)
They come in threes and served with whipped cream and tea jelly! Not too sweet ergo, not boring.

2. California Maki (Roku, Oracle Building, Katipunan)
I swear it's unlike any other. Plus their staff are really accommodating.

3.Red Velvet Brownies (Pi: Breakfast and Pies, Malingap, Teacher's Village)
These munchies were a favorite at one of my workshops! They're better than red velvet cupcakes and plain brownies!

Artwork from Kapangan

Here's the artwork I made in Kapangan in September. I used several natural dyes and pigments - most of which were hand-processed by sir Asao. He regularly gathers leaves, flowers, soil, and soft rocks in the mountains and experiment with them to produce different colors. He also taught me how to use different binders like konjac, mountain tea, gin, etc.

I'm planning to have this design printed on fabric and make a simple top, dresses, and coin purses. Let's just hope I don't get distracted! :p
