High Tea with these Cute Boys

I was left home alone with two of my youngest brothers, Gomer and Moy last weekend. They were the ones who prepared and cooked our meals at home. Moy's steamed Dory with orange and butter was really good - we had it for lunch, dinner, and breakfast the morning after! :) It was also his birthday last Saturday so I decided to treat them to a movie and high tea. I watched Piolo and Toni's latest movie. Thank god it ended well.

The looked so cute holding the delicate tea cups and pots, and mini sandwiches. :) I could tell they enjoyed our afternoon because they wanted to have another round of teas and finger food.

We went home with these complimentary rose-flavored macaroons! I was surprised when the waiter handed it to me. Did it come with the high tea package? Anyhoo, they tasted so good, just like real roses. :) Thanks TWG!

Happy birthday Moy!

Some Things, February

1. It took me years to wear running shoes again. I jog in the afternoons and attend yogilates twice a week hoping it would help improve my posture. This scoliosis and the bouts of lower back pains that come with it are killing me! Do you know of any other exercises and routines that could help? :)

2. There's this project that I'm glad I didn't have the guts to turn down when I had the chance. It teaches me new things about people, a new industry, and myself as a crafter and designer. More importantly, to some degree, it has made me more decisive, and better in replying to emails. :)

3. I finally met tita Tocy, Mikko's mom. She has been a crafter ever since. I share with her a love for collecting flowers and leaves, and just recently, attended her Flower Pressing Workshop.

I also received a package full of craft books, materials, Blueberry tea, and even her own stash of dried Alaskan leaves and flowers. ♡

Craft Loot

This book, Illuminate, contains lighting projects which look complicated but fortunately can be done easily using materials you probably already have at home. The ones I want to try making are marked using washi tape from Hey Kessy.

4. This beautiful Jade bangle is from Jemay -  a fellow crafter who is based in Myanmar  (I've been dreaming to visit this country!). I really like it because it matches my complexion. :)

5. My friend Sanndra and I spent one after baking brownies. We used Betty Crocker mix. It was sooo good but a little too sweet for me. The only times I am in the kitchen is when I eat. Cooking didn't really appeal to me until recently. I want to come up with my own recipes this year. I took home the extra brownie bars and also these:

Stationery

Sands gave me some of her mom's vintage stationery sets. I'm amaze with how her vintage collections are packaged in sturdy boxes with cute prints.

Thanks Sands! :)

You Know It's You Music Video

You Know It's You

You Know It's You

You Know It's You

It's my first time to be in a music video so this one is definitely one of my most favorite projects. Ever. Not to mention that I really like the song.

I'm a 90's kid so watching MTV and Channel V, singing along, pretending I was a member of music groups like Spice Girls (haha!), B*Witched, and TLC or the lead in a Moffatts, Hanson, BSB, or N'Sync video, was a staple childhood past time. One item off the bucketlist. Haha!

Thanks Slow Hello and Red House Productions for choosing me!

DIY VDAY Gift: Vanilla Sugar

For this year's VDay, I prepared flavored sugar for loved ones. You probably got everything you need at home  for this diy project - well, maybe except for the vanilla bean. :)

Vanilla Sugar

Things Needed:

1 vanilla pod (you can get this from the supermarket)
1 cup of sugar
1 clean bottle
1 strip of washi for the label

Preps:

1. Open your vanilla pod by slicing it down the center. Scrape off the beans.
2. Put 1 cup sugar in a bowl. Add the vanilla beans and pod.
3. Mix it.
4. Put the mixture inside the bottle.
5. Use washi tape to label it. You can even add simple notes.

You can also use lemon skin to flavor sugar. Just make sure you remove the lemon rind (white part) altogether so your sugar wouldn't be bitter.

I gave a bottle as a goodbye gift to my sister Germee who went back to Italy. The other ones will be gifted to my family and friends later. I'm already making another batch but this time, I'll shape my flavored sugar into hearts and cubes.

Happy VDay everyone!♡♡

PS This isn't just for Valentines. I'm sure this handmade gift would be perfect for birthdays and weddings too :)

Of Kick Wheels and Quick Lunches

I'm back to making stonewares using the potter's wheel.

This studio is spacious and has six kick wheels and gigantic kilns. Sometimes, sir Pete, the other potters, and I even have lunch together. For some reason, meals are yummier when eaten from handmade dishes.

Hhmm, can't wait to have my own wheel. :)
