Papercut for Hey Kessy's Craft Gathering

I recently made a papercut poster for Hey Kessy's Craft Gathering in August! Would you believe this is my first ever colored papercut? All my other papercuts are made using white paper - most of the time bond paper which is 70gsm. :) It feels different but I still like how the flowers and flourishes have turned out.

Thanks to everyone who took time and register for the gathering, however, we can only accommodate a limited number of guests. We'll be hosting more craft events like this.

Some Things,

1. Omps, a close friend from LM, visited me at the studio a few weeks back. We talked about his resin projects and making in general. He also gave me a bottle of peanut butter her mom made. The spread is yummy and way creamier than any other peanut butter I've ever tasted.

2. My mom loves fruits and so do I. It has been her dream to join apple and cherry picking workshops. Hehe. Anyhoo, here are the fruits she sent for me to snack on while I was staying at the studio last week.

The leaves which fell from our neighbor's trees and plants, were put to good use. Look!

3. I attended Pino's new menu launch at their Jupiter branch, and got to take home these giant chocnut and pastillas macarons! I'll definitely come back for these treats and their calamares negra - my new favorite Pino food!

4. I have a lot of things in my "I have been wanting to" list, and one of which is hosting a mini al fresco dinner for me and Paul at the studio's pocket garden. The weather and mosquitoes make it harder to push through with the plan though.

5. Dana and Iya - two of my closest friends from college - hung out at the studio. We made stamps and finished a bottle of cheap but good wine! :)

Antipolo Roadtrip

I had a rainy bu art-filled Tuesday. The whole day was spent appreciating artworks, observing wood and leaf patterns, and enjoying coffee and suman at Pinto Art Gallery and Crescent Moon Cafe with my friend, Tippy.

The gallery's new wing houses more artworks, plants, and even books! Their plants are way bigger than their counterparts here. I swear they're huge enough to make it to the Jurassic Park movies! Haha. Tippy said this is because they have a much bigger space to grow in. Aah yes, the importance of having space. :)

Walking around the huge gallery - the whole property is approximately 1.2 hectare - wasn't tiring at all. Aside form the art, the white walls, big windows, high ceiling, rooftop gardens, and wooden doors would keep you engaged and amused.

We still had extra time before the rush hour in the metro so we opted to drop by Crescent Moon Cafe for merienda. We had homemade suman with sugar, mango, and hot coffee - perfect for the chilly weather.

Trips like this are what I need right now especially that I didn't get to get out of the city on my birthday a couple of months back. Can't wait for our next roadtrip, Tippy!

From Lulu

Most of the time, I get to know other crafters just online - through their blogs or Instagram accounts. There are times, however, where I get to meet some in person. Either way, I'm so grateful we get to connect.

These two special gifts are from one of them, Lulu. She has visited me at several craft fairs before, and it's always comforting seeing her, all smiles, approach our craft booth. We last met at a 10a Alabama fair where she gave me two of her flower presses. Aside from that, she also handed me a book about flowers and plants. How sweet!
