Homemade French Dinner

Hosted a special dinner for my friends at the studio. Our French friend Louis taught us how to make crepes, hachis parmentier, and choose the best type of wine to go with our main dishes. He also shared to us his can of foie gras from France...so by default, this is one of my favorite gatherings we ever hosted at the studio!

For starters, pan-toasted batard bread with foie gras, and veggie salad with balsamic-honey-lemon vinaigrette. Both were prepared by Iona and Pao. We had chardonnay. Our main course was beef and chicken hachis parmentier. It tasted so good with the Bordeaux wine we bought from Rustan's.

After having hachis parmentier, it was time for dessert! Louis had a mini workshop on how to make authentic French crepes! Everyone got to try it! It was fun especially because everyone was trying to make the thinnest crepe! Instead of using normal sugar, we added muscovado and honey from Sagada. We paired the crepes with cidre doux.

This turned out to be a fun and interesting night, though most of our guests only met there for the first time. Louis and I invited our respective friends from different circles. :)
