Some Things, September

1. I was able to catch Manix Abrera’s 14 Silent Comics exhibit at Vargas Museum. Also bought his book! The stories and the way he illustrated them are both amazing! My favorite story has got to be the one about the dwendes

2. I spent the previous long weekend in La Union for the Vitamin Sea event. Abbey and I even extended our stay - we had quiet and usap-buhay times by the beach, sunrise watching, yummy spicy squid meals, mojitos, and local movie marathon on our way home to Manila. It was a perfect trip - though I wish it was longer.

Thanks to everyone who crafted by the beach with us. I’ll be going back in October for our Craft Camp!

3. I made a big stamp of the patterns I saw by the beach. Good thing I have extra carving blocks and ink pads after the workshop.

4. A kindergarten class from Cambridge Child Development Center, invited me over to talk about papercutting and Hey Kessy. I didn't know how to explain papercutting to them so I just asked them to draw their favorite things. I bought my #Xacto knife and cutting mat so I was able to papercut their works. They looked so happy! One of the kids even hugged and kissed me! :)

I wish they'll always have the courage to make even when they get older. ♡

5.  One of the questions I always get is what kinds of paper I use for papercutting. The answer is this pad! The Papercut Diary has four types of specialty paper. I hope more people would be encouraged to try papercutting now that more types of paper are readily available in market.

You can buy the pad at the Hey Kessy shop in Katipunan or you can also order online by sending an email to contact@heykessy.com.
