Shibori Workshop at the 2nd Craft Camp

Early this year, I made a list of crafts I'd love to share to other crafters. Shibori was on top of the list! So, when we set the 2nd Craft Camp in La Union, I knew it was time to hold a Shibori Workshop.

I taught the campers how to prepare the indigo vat and two Shibori techniques. They experimented with different Shibori tools like wooden tiles, sticks, and rubber bands to come up with their own patters. A slight change in the angle and size of the fold or the placement of the rubber bands or sticks can easily result to a totally different design.

Thank god for the clear skies, we were able to hang dry the freshly-indigo dyed beach blankets outside, just right infront of the beach.

After the workshop, and shortly before it drizzled, everyone ran to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset. :)

My next Shibori Workshop is on November 29 at the Hey Kessy studio. You can reserve a slot at workshops.heykessy.com.
