Floral Print on a White Dress

My sister, Germee, went to the studio and asked me if I had fabric paint because she couldn't find anything else to wear to our friend's wedding but a white dress. Of course, she couldn't go wearing plain white, so she wanted me to paint her dress. I was papercutting an old doodle when she dropped by, and I figured the floral pattern would be apt for the occassion! We used metallic fabric paint, a foam brush, and my papercut stencil to transfer the pattern onto the white dress. :)

Super happy with how it turned out!

Something Really Foreign

The idea of taking on projects I haven’t done before and prolly wouldn’t have the courage to try out if it weren’t for a client’s request, makes me scared but in a good way. Doing something totally foreign widens your perspective as an artist and at the same time, surprises you with the things that you can actually do. So when UP Town Center tapped me to do a ceiling mural, I knew I just had to say yes! It's going to be my first mural ever!

I made several papercuts and tested it with spray paint. It worked! I lost count of the days I’ve been working on the piece. Good thing my friend Danika of Nava is also working on a mural beside my spot. Even kuya Robert of Papemelroti has a wall to work on. I'm in good company. :)

My brother Harry and friend Fabros also helped filling in the leaves and flowers.

The mural isn’t finished yet so if you happen to be in the neighborhood, come check out my piece at Urban Turf in the new wing of UP Town Center! :)

In other news, I’m rereading another favorite book from highschool, Einstein’s Dreams. If you haven’t read it, go here and start reading!
